Research & Innovation
R&D is at the core of OBUU. We research, design and validate new approaches in artificial intelligence, computer vision, advanced algorithms and hybrid physical-digital systems to solve high-complexity industrial problems.
Our R&D model combines technical depth with a product-oriented mindset and a clear path to deployment — taking emerging technologies from the lab into real operational environments. We work closely with leading industrial companies, research centres and strategic technology programmes to accelerate the development, validation and transfer of new solutions.
Our innovation activity is structured around strategic lines such as zero-defect manufacturing, automated visual inspection, predictive quality systems, physics-based modelling and intelligent engineering tools.
Our R&D Ecosystem
We collaborate with leading industrial companies, research centres and technology programmes to bring together the expertise needed for complex R&D challenges.

Funded R&D Projects
Some of our current R&D lines are developed within publicly funded collaborative projects, in partnership with leading aerospace and industrial companies.
DELFIN
DELFIN — Desarrollo de un Empenaje de Flujo Laminar para Maximizar la Eficiencia Ambiental
Exp. 00171084 / MIG-20241001
Led by Airbus, the DELFIN project investigates laminar flow empennage designs to reduce aerodynamic drag and fuel consumption in next-generation aircraft, while preparing manufacturing systems for unprecedented production rates over the next 20 years. OBUU developed AI-based tools and advanced software solutions as part of the consortium's research effort.
